  • Tesco Bags of Help Grant Scheme

    We’re delighted  that our application to the Tesco Bags of Help grant scheme has been successful and our project will be put forward to a customer vote in Tesco stores during January, February and March 2020.

    Please vote for our project which is to create a great habitat for pollinators in Shirley. This is a cross-curricular project where students and the community will develop various skills in order for bees to thrive. 

    Voting has already started and ends Tuesday 31st March 2020. The project with the highest number of votes  will receive £2,000, the second placed project £1,000 and the third placed project £500.

    We will notify you of the results as soon as they are announced.

  • Design a Fish

    We are painting an aquarium to go in the Medical First Aid Room and WE NEED YOUR HELP!

    10 lucky winners will have their fish featured in the aquarium painting and will also receive a prize.

     THE RULES

    · Design any fish of your choice. This can be a drawing or a painting of any shape or size

    · Use your imagination and be creative

    · Give your fish a name

    · Hand in either your original or a copy  - Along with your full name and the name of your  fish

    All entries must be handed in by Monday 3rd February to Miss Lyons in the General Office or emailed to: zoe.lyons@ushschool.org

  • USH's Very Own Champion!

    Congratulations to Amber who has won the 9 Nations Cup in Serbia, representing England at the 70kg weight category.  

    It was a straight final with three standing counts before eventually stopping China for good in the third round.  Amber won by beating Wengi Zharz (Number 1 in China).

  • Secret Performers!

    Mrs Ndupuechi went to see Aladdin at the Hanger Farm Arts Centre and surprised and delighted to see Lana R from Year 7 performing as part of the Dynamic Youth Theatre group.  Lana was amazing, so Mrs Ndupuechi would like to say well done to her!

  • Who Has Made The Most Progression In Maths?

    We would like to congratulate Saif A and Oliwier for having the most progressions in Maths during the first term.  They were both been awarded a medal in assembly last week.
